And that is why we went through it because straight away I freed up half my day to now focus on sales, marketing, and improving the gym, building. I think that is one of the prime reasons that we've grown as quickly as we have just cause that's freed up all that time for me to focus on the business rather than within the business.

 

My name is Ryan, I’m the director of Tactical Transformations. We are a military-based gym in the north of England. We only employ veterans and we run a military hybrid training program, anything from running to CrossFit to strength training, but very military.

We opened the gym in January (2022). We got TeamUp and we’ve basically doubled in size already, and we’re doubling in size again. Within six or seven months, we’ve absolutely blown up, so we're one of the fastest growing gyms in the north of England currently.

When I first started before the gym, I was basically, I was just a PT on a rugby field. I found a lot of my time went towards remembering to take people's direct debits from their bank or remembering to send them messages or a lot of stuff that I didn't realize could be automated.

And then I came across TeamUp and it wasn't just the whole payment schedule that could be simplified and managing stuff. It was anything from birthday messages to checking up on clients to that sort of stuff. And that is why we went through it because straight away I freed up half my day to now focus on sales, marketing, and improving the gym, building. I think that is one of the prime reasons that we've grown as quickly as we have just cause that's freed up all that time for me to focus on the business rather than within the business.

So when we create memberships, the ability to now create, whereas before, we would only have to, we would target one particular group of people. So that would be a high-paying client. We are a high-paying gym and for a lot of people, it'd be quite daunting to pay upfront a large amount of money that they would not normally spend at another gym.

But now, for instance, a split payment option we can create different memberships. So now in the gym, we've got a couple different, we've got like a contract membership, so we've integrated TeamUp with a review contract options that tie into a contract and it sets up direct debit and all the Stripe accounts. But then anything from, or the integrations as well, to be honest, but 100%, I would say the payment schedule is the number one thing.

That's helped us at TeamUp a hundred percent, hundred percent. I'm hoping TeamUp doesn't up the prices by me saying this, but I think it's very underpriced for the value I can give myself and my business, for the time it frees up for me, everything's automated. I can go away on holiday and leave the gym shop floor running with one of the lads that work for me. And I know all my payments, all my schedules, all my contracts, my automated messages, my emails, everything sorted for me. So I don't even need to open up the laptop.
