And then I contacted you lot. And it was a whole new world. And I always make a shout out for Yasmin, I mean just amazing and for me having learning difficulties and actually trying to think through it and getting confused, not for once did I feel like an idiot. And believe me, for my whole life I felt like an idiot when I haven't quite got something. It doesn't mean I'm stupid. It just means that I learn in a different way. And they (TeamUp) were just brilliant. And I'm never leaving now.

Why I signed up for TeamUp's software

My name's Sarah Maxwell, and I'm a bit of an old bird compared to some of you who are going to be using your TeamUp, but one of the things I've been doing that I hadn't done before is teaching classes over the internet since lockdown and it was something I didn't think to do, but it kind of hurdled me much quicker into it. So currently I'm doing personal training and doing classes and making videos for people and doing lots of various different things for different companies. So it's going alright.

Four years ago I went to Australia and I used an app, the one I found was MindBody. Now, at the time, it was quite expensive. But I have a feeling about this so I thought I'd give it a go anyway, so they come up to sign up to the top level and after a bit of handholding at the beginning. But in honest truth, I'm dyslexic and I really struggle. It was just horrendous. And once that all happened, the price went up and it was basically built for massive clubs as far as I was concerned. So like something like a huge group or something. But it really was not the people like me and the price was outrageous, I could never get through to the service. So I lost it and went that's it. I found this really cheap. It was just app-based. Just it was really terrible. I mean, it had no features whatsoever. You couldn't get through to anybody.

And then I changed again and normally if I'm happy I'll stay forever. Believe me, I've had the same phone number since 1997. So I'm just not like that, I'm not fickle. And I thought, oh, no, it's lockdown, what am I going to do? What am I going to do? And I have to change my whole business model. So I tried another and they were very nice. But again, I just, it didn't have the features and didn't have Zoom integration. And then I contacted you lot. And it was a whole new world. And I always make a shout out for Yasmin, I mean just amazing and for me having learning difficulties and actually trying to think through it and getting confused, not for once did I feel like an idiot.

And believe me, for my whole life I felt like an idiot when I haven't quite got something. It doesn't mean I'm stupid. It just means that I learn in a different way. And they were just brilliant. No question was out of order. It was just lovely. And I'm never leaving now. I just feel really comfortable. I'm really happy and it's working brilliantly. No problem whatsoever. I've got quite a few little anecdotes. The first thing was just when I first started teaching and I found both TeamUp with the Zoom integration, it was fantastic. But I still hadn't quite worked out Zoom. I think I'd spent about 30 hours on webinars and not a club. And I couldn't work out, it was like she taught and iPad disaster didn't work, couldn't see people, all of these things. So I spent money that I didn't have particularly at start down in panic like I think we all did.

So I decided one day I would do an eighties class. So I dressed up in all the eighties gear because I actually was an aerobics teacher in the eighties. Oh yes, I'm that old. I thought might make my bum look like that is like half the size, that is like one cheek. Unbelievable. So I thought right, I'm going to get really into it. So I put this vile outfit on and I had just started working with Reebok and they sent me this eighties stuff to try out and these little ankle boots and everything. And I put this background on Zoom. You know, you have those backgrounds and I thought this is going to look really good and it was an eighties cassette.

So I'm trying to get my sound thing. I mean, I just, it all went wrong because you couldn't Spotify through and I was like that, and I thought after 30 years on the job I should have been a bit calmer but technology, no. Anyways, I start teaching this class and I blended into the background. So I moved my arm it would disappear into the cassette. Can you imagine you've got paying customers with like half of my body off and I couldn't get it off for three days. I was absolutely tormented, so I did videos instead until I split. That was just one of them, just one story. In looking around lots of different sites there are lots of different things out there. For me, the most important thing is simplicity. And believe me, when it comes to technology, I mean, I'm using pretape distinction. You need a degree. You need a degree in computer technology. I can't even tell you. So that just does my head in. But with TeamUp, I'm like, oh, yeah, you know, it's easy. It's not a problem. And if you've got a problem, you just message them. And it is absolutely fantastic.

And I think one of the things that has been brilliant for me has been, you know, the parry on when you first start online, I've got to send them a Zoom link and I just sent all the wrong links I was an absolute disaster. So there's all of that and the understanding of customer service. But the other thing that I would say is, is that they're constantly evolving. And I think this for me has been tremendous. I rarely ever fill in surveys. And, you know, if I do any kind of work or talk about a product or something, I get paid for it. And I'm not getting paid for it, I just thought I'd tell you that because I'm doing this because they have been absolutely fantastic. They've saved my business and I would recommend it to any instructor. And if any of you are a little bit dubious, I'm quite happy for TeamUp to give out my details and I'll tell you about it.
