When he launched his PT business Pearse McNerney hadn't quite found the right software to manage his memberships, until he was recommended to check out TeamUp.

I've had other companies approach me and try and give me services for cheaper and whatever else. But for me, the service from TeamUp, it's, it's, it's just amazing. Like we never have any issues with a website, like we never have issues of creation, like everything that we possibly needed to do in order to help us run on the business like we get that from the service, which has been great.

My name is Pearse McNerney, I'm the owner of the Raise the Bar Fitness in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We're a small group training facility and we've been up and running now for just over two years. We specifically focus on training women so we're female-only apart from the coaches, obviously, I am not female. But yeah, we're a female-only training facility that specializes in helping women. I've been using a booking system, I know TeamUp is more than just a booking system, but that's what we reference is as. But I've been using booking systems even from whenever I was working on a class. And when I set up Raise the Bar Fitness we tried loads of different software and none of them just really delivered what I was expecting in terms of the service, reliability and functionality. And I'd be chopping and changing every couple of months and trying different ones.

And it was, I think we have been with TeamUp now for it must be over a year by now. I was recommended to it by a few other gym owners friends are from we've switched. For us it's just been fantastic for me since we have switched over. You know, if we ever need anything from you guys, it's a quick message through the website, someone gets back to us fairly quickly.

But for me, it's just the ease of use and the fact that we never have any issues with it. Whereas previous software that we've used would have crashed a lot, would have had downtime, which obviously isn't great for us because we have clients trying to book sessions all the time. Even with this translation online, it's been a fairly seamless process because you can obviously link up things like Zoom and stuff. So it's making the whole process of clients still being able to get access to our sessions and looking through them fairly straightforward, even despite the gym being closed. I quite like running on the reports. So we do things, we, first of all, run like weekly attendance reports so that we can see how active our clients are. We've got the slipping away process set up.

So it means that we can keep tabs on clients and if they're not very active, we can reach out. And that in itself is a really good retention tool. Someone who's under the slip away category, it allows us to reach out to them and try and get them back on board rather than losing them as a client. But just even things like being able to run, report and see how many sessions people have attended like we do little milestones. So when someone, every hundred sessions, someone does it at the end of the class we give them a shoutout in out in our member Facebook group and stuff. So having that functionality there and being able to, like, keep tabs on clients and see who your longest-serving clients are and how many sessions people are doing.

As I said that one of the really good things that I like is the slipping away category, being able to make sure that our retention is keeping up by being notified when someone hasn't attended in a little while and then obviously we can set that to what we want it to be for our business. Like, I think that that really possibly helps us with retention. That's the main thing that we use reports for. And the booking system itself, it's just so good, it's so easy to use. It's very easy for us to set up on our end. And the clients have access to the app.

Being able to very quickly jump on and book sessions, and if they need to change anything like they don't need to be contacting us directly, they can do all of that through the app. And how changeable it is great as well. You know, being able to set up your cancellation policies and know how soon before a session people are able to book in and stuff like it just has everything that we need basically. As I've mentioned before, we've used loads of different software before coming to TeamUp.

I think we probably used five or six different ones and there were issues with them. You know, clients have trouble booking into up the sessions or maybe not getting the notification if a waitlist spot became free and they miss out on it. Whereas with TeamUp, we never have any of those problems, like literally, it's just being perfect in every way. And the clients love that. You know, it's there's nothing worse than something not working properly and people having to chase me and be like, yeah, we're trying to book sessions, but it's not working like it's just a bit of a headache for them and me. So the fact that you know, there's never any problems with TeamUp and it's just so seamless. It's been great.
