Golf is a dynamic sport, which requires a high level of physical preparedness, as physical preparedness can help to reduce possible musculoskeletal injuries and drive on course performances. Research has shown that regular physical training (strength and conditioning) can develop strength and power, along with other physical capacities, with strength and power being associated with an increase in club head speed. Using physical characteristics of established golfers can form a baseline of the different physical capacities and skills, which can be specifically trained and developed via consistent strength and conditioning sessions.
