Back to Activity
Back to Activity is a physiotherapist-led circuit class delivered by our brilliant senior physio, Jim Speechley. It’s built for adults of all ages who want to get stronger, move better, and feel more capable day-to-day.
The focus is firmly on strength building — think resistance bands, dumbbells, weight-lifting techniques, cardio bikes, and simple bodyweight movements. Jim tailors everything to your level, so you’re always working safely and steadily towards real, long-term strength.
You’ll feel right at home here if you’re:
• Living with osteoarthritis or a long-term condition
• Recovering from injury or surgery
• Unsure where to start with exercise
• Wanting to rebuild strength, mobility and confidence
This isn’t a boot camp. It’s friendly and fun, and grounded in physiotherapy expertise. Jim keeps an eye on every rep, every lift, every bit of effort — guiding you at a pace that works for you.
Back to Activity is a supportive place for anyone who wants to get stronger, stay active, and improve their quality of life, without the pressure of a gym environment.
Reconnect with your body. Build strength that lasts. Keep yourself moving forward - and have a laugh whilst doing it!
Back to Balance
Led by our Physiotherapy Team Lead and specialist physio McKenzie Jenkin, Back to Balance is a small-group class designed to help you stay strong, steady, and independent as you age.
Focusing on falls prevention and frailty, McKenzie combines safe, targeted strength and balance exercises with expert physiotherapy input — all in a fun, relaxed setting. There’s no need to get down onto the floor, but you’ll learn how to safely manage it if ever needed.
Expect good music, plenty of laughter, and a friendly group atmosphere where everyone works at their own pace. With just 8 spaces per class, you’ll get personal guidance and encouragement every step of the way.
This is more than exercise — it’s about maintaining confidence, mobility, and community. Many participants stay for a chat afterwards, making it as social as it is beneficial for your health.
