We were using another platform before, we changed last year, just at the start of lockdown to TeamUp and I never want to go back to anything else. I find it really, really good like you can easily work out what you want to do and for the clients as well, I find that a lot of it's quite self-explanatory. It's really easy to use. You can just go on and click, click, click done and you can understand it.

How software has helped me run my business and offer the best service to my clients

I'm Kathryn Edwards and, well, I have my own personal business, which is called Empower Fitness Training, but I've kind of teamed up now with Balance the Countryside Gym, which is in Timsbury just outside of Bath. And it's been open for about six years now. But obviously, along with other gyms, who have done something similar, we've had to re-adapt to doing things on Zoom.

So there's a lot of variety of classes that we do here, including yoga, Pilates and lots of HIIT classes or dance-based. So we have a studio that's just been opened up in 2019. It's fairly new and we didn't really get much use of it because we had to go online. But being able to do things online is so brilliant and we will get to do things in the comfort of a home. And a lot of our members who were with us from before lockdown have now stuck by us and transitioned to doing online. But they still get the individuality or the personal touch from us, instructors.

So for me personally, I teach boxercise and a few HIIT classes and some tone-it-up classes so with dumbells and strength, no jumping around in that one. They get to I mean, they get to see at least how beautiful the gym is here, it's really stunning.

And when we're a bit more outside of the Bath, so people like to come here because it's not like the commercial big gyms, but we're still able to because we have a smaller group of people in our classes we're still able to cater for these people. And we tend to have no more than 15 people in the classes because the reason for that is so that get that individual touch like you can get to know the people. You can really become friends with them and help them through their fitness journey.

So, yeah, I'm one of the instructors here, but I also help with the admin and the marketing social media. We were using another platform before, we changed last year, just at the start of lockdown to TeamUp and I never want to go back to anything else. I find it really, really good like you can easily work out what you want to do and for the clients as well, I find that a lot of it's quite self-explanatory. It's really easy to use.

You can just go on and click, click, click done and you can understand it, whereas I think some of them with the algorithms and things can be a bit more complicated. And that's just from my experience. But yeah. So in terms of, it's really user friendly.

There are a lot of tools that we use every day, like just a simple and fun one. As I say, we like to be really engaging with our members. And one of them, as you can scroll right down to the bottom and see peoples' birthdays, which we were just talking about. So maybe we can send them out a little gift.

Or, you know, you say happy birthday, wish them a happy birthday, maybe we didn't know it was their birthday when they booked into the class and we can say that to them. Yeah, that's just one example, I think, of what's really good about it.

But yeah, it's really easy to use, and that's the important thing I find. Actually not hard, like training on it and such, I've worked out what to do and then when I haven't been able to, we've been able to call you guys up and you're like they're on the phone straight away. So for me, the other thing is the really good customer service.

But it's like if you need to do something and there was an issue with a client and needs to be sorted in like ten minutes, you can easily do that. Um, whereas when I would make errors that happened with the way the previous one it wasn't I say simple is you could just sort it out really quickly. So yeah, it's that, it's really intuitive. You can work it out for yourself. But if you can't then it was it's really good customer service. I would definitely recommend it over other forms.
