Gym Induction + Day Pass – Start Training at Essential Strength
Starts on the date of purchase. Valid for 2 weeks.

Try out our strength training gym in Wavertree with a day pass and gym induction.

After purchasing your day pass, please book in for your induction - no walk-ins allowed

The induction is a short health and safety briefing and a quick demonstration of how to use our strength training equipment. 

After that, you’re free to train independently.

💥 Important: This option is for people who already know how to train themselves confidently.
We’re a strength-focused gym, not a commercial setup with rows of machines and cardio kit. If you’re unsure what to do with your barbell lifts, need help with technique, or want proper direction, you’ll want to book a PT taster session instead.

After your day pass and induction, you can sign up for a gym membership:
– £33/month: limited access during manned hours only
– £39/month: self-access (6–10pm weekdays, 8–8 weekends)

PT Taster Session – Includes Personalised Coaching + Induction
Starts on the date of purchase. Valid for 14 days.

Our taster sessions are for people interested in strength-specific personal training or anyone who needs extra support getting started in a barbell-focused strength training gym.

This is an advanced onboarding session designed to give you specific guidance based on your goals, experience, and needs.

It’s ideal if:

  • You’re interested in starting PT with us to improve your lifts

  • You’re new to strength training or specialist strength training equipment

  • You want extra support to feel confident and safe when training

In your session, we’ll cover:

  • How to use our strength training equipment correctly

  • Key lifting cues and safe setup for all suitable exercise variations

  • What to focus on in your next visit so you can hit the ground running

📅 Once purchased, book your taster session through the Appointments section. Sessions must be booked in advance.
🕒 PT sessions are available 12–8pm Monday–Friday and 10am–1pm Saturdays (subject to availability).

Gym Memberships
Manned Gym Membership

Train at our strength gym in Wavertree with a manned membership option.

Once you’ve completed your induction, you can purchase a gym membership and book training slots during our manned hours.

🛑 Induction is required before joining
We’ll show you how to use the kit safely during your induction.

Once you sign up, you can book gym sessions during our staffed hours, where there’s always someone around if you need support. (This is typically afternoons, evenings and Saturdays, but this is subject to change).

💪 Your membership includes access to:
– A library of strength-based workout plans for different goals
– Online portal access so you can follow your program anytime

This is ideal for local lifters who don't want coaching. 

If you do start coaching with us, gym access outside of your sessions is included for free.


Self-Access Gym Membership

Join our strength training gym in Wavertree with manned and self-access hours.

Once you’ve completed your induction, you can purchase a gym membership and book your training slots — whether you’re training during manned hours or using self-access.

🛑 Induction is required before joining.
Since this membership includes self-access, you must already be familiar with using strength equipment safely and confidently. 

After signing up, you can book open gym sessions during both staffed and self-access hours - including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.

💪 Your membership includes:
– A selection of strength-focused workout plans for different goals
– Access to our online portal so you can follow your program anytime

This is ideal for lifters who want freedom and flexibility to train on their own schedule, if you'd like to get coaching with us, you can upgrade to self-access for a small monthly fee.

Personal Training
Fast Track to Free Weights
Begins on the date of the first registration. Valid for 3 weeks.

This is your intro package to start coaching with us at Essential Strength.

You’ll get:
– 3 × 60-minute 1:1 Personal Training sessions at a discounted rate
– A strength training program tailored to your level and delivered to you via a training app
– Complementary gym access to train independently between sessions (over the 3 weeks)

💥 This is our main onboarding path for new coaching clients. After purchasing, book your first session with Kim or Adam and we’ll go from there.

📅 Train at off-peak times for a quieter gym experience or Mon-Thurs evenings and Saturday mornings for more of a community feel (especially if you're interested in doing group coaching going forward)

💡 What happens after?

Once you’ve completed Fast Track to Free Weights, you can:
– Join our Small Group PT team (from £20.50/week)
– Continue with 1:1 Coaching (around £37/session)

👉 Both include gym access during manned hours and personalised programming.
