Heels Fundamentals 6 Week Course
“Heels Fundamentals” is a 6-week course is designed to introduce pole dancers to the foundational skills, techniques, and knowledge needed to dance confidently and safely in pole dancing heels. This course focuses on developing proper posture, balance, and control while executing fundamental movements, spins, poses, transitions, and floorwork. It also covers heels-specific elements of pole dancing, such as heel clacks and and introducton to edgework. By the end of the course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the essential techniques required to build confidence and creativity in their heels movement.
Goals
By completing the course, students will:
1. Develop an understanding of safe practice in heels.
Including types of shoe available & how to wear them, weight distribution and balance, and the importance of foot & ankle stability.
2. Increase foot and ankle stability
Through conditioning exercises, increasing knowledge about proper engagement, and weekly heels practice.
3. Competently and safely perform foundational movements in heels
Including pole walks, pirouettes and transitions.
4. Feel confident learning choreography in heels
By building an awareness of and competency in frequently seen movements and giving an opportunity to practice this in a choreography lesson.
