Gather. Practice. Serve.

So much more than the sum of its parts, this session brings together community, movement, nature and service into something that I hope will be quite special.

We'll gather at Merthyr Mawr and take a mindful walk through the dunes and onto the beach. Here we'll set up for our yoga practice - 75 minutes of steady and intentional movement, connecting us to our surroundings and the greater self. Afterwards there's the opportunity to take a dip in the sea, or to simply sit and talk and enjoy where you are.

Finding a sheltered spot, we'll come back together to eat before undertaking a beach clean - our contribution to the Surfers Against Sewage million mile clean, and a gesture of gratitude for the time spent in this beautiful place. To close there'll be another mindful walk back through the dunes, before we go our separate ways into the rest of the day.

On top of the beach clean, 5% of proceeds will be donated to Project Seagrass who are working to restore the UK's seagrass meadows and support our climate, fisheries and local livelihoods. Come along to connect, move and commune with nature - and to play your part in protecting this beautiful planet of ours.

This session will be run outdoors in the elements and the walk is a couple of miles each way. Please do check the weather beforehand and come prepared with whatever you might need - water, sun cream, hats, blankets, layers etc. as appropriate. Unless the weather is totally restrictive we will look to go ahead however the session is liable to rescheduling where that becomes the only option.

We'll meet at the Candleston car park (directions to follow), departing across the dunes at 09:30 so please don't be late! Oh, and don't forget your lunch :)

Merthyr Mawr

Meet at the Candleston car park: leave the M4 motorway at Junction 37 and then follow the A48 towards Bridgend. Turn right towards the village of Merthyr Mawr and once in the village continue along Merthyr Mawr Road, passing the village church on your right-hand side. In around two miles you'll reach the main car park, which has room for approximately 100 cars.
