An introduction to mindfulness: what exactly is it? why is it good for us? what are the basic practices? how can I make it part of my life?

In this crazy world of pressure and anxiety, mindfulness helps us slow right down. It's actually very accessible and the techniques are simple: when we pay attention to our breathing and our body in a particular way, we can cultivate a deep inner calm and relaxation.

Join Sophie for a morning of mindfulness exploration. This workshop is part of a series - we hope you join us for the others too. No experience needed all equipment provided, plus resources for your own practice.

 

Steadiness and Compassion: Mindfulness Level 2 with inquiry, with Sophie Carr

Do you feel overly reactive or emotional? do you get moody, resentful, anxious? (let's face it - who doesn't?) In this workshop, we'll explore mindfulness of emotions, learning how to be comfortable with uncomfortable feelings. We'll also practice gratitude and compassion, which are great supports for well-being, increasing our resilience to life's challenges and brightening our inner atmosphere. The practice of inquiry, or mindful listening, is a wonderful way of finding release and relaxation around our emotions.
 

This workshop is for anyone who already has experience of mindfulness meditation, or who has done our Level 1 workshop. All equipment provided, plus resources for your own practice.

 

Make Peace with your Mind: Mindfulness Level 3 with inquiry, with Sophie Carr

Do you judge yourself harshly, or have an inner voice that is very self-critical? Do you catastrophise, feel stressed or worry? In this workshop we'll learn how to soothe and disengage from this 'inner critic', freeing ourselves up to get on with life. We'll explore mindfulness of mind, which helps us befriend ourselves. The practice of inquiry, or mindful listening, is a wonderful way of finding release and relaxation around our inner critic and tricksy thoughts.

This workshop is for anyone who already has experience of mindfulness meditation, or who has done our Level 1 workshop. All equipment provided, plus resources for your own practice.
