Menopause Yoga™️ (MY) 6 week course to support you through menopause and beyond
This Menopause Yoga programme is for clients at any stage of their menopause (perimenopause to post menopause). The programme consists of 6 weekly 1 hour classes, each tailor made to address common menopause symptoms such as: anxiety and overwhelm, ‘meno rage’, hot flushes, brain fog and fatigue as well as to build physical strength and resilience in menopause. Menopause Yoga™️ accredited teacher, Sian Lincoln will share simple techniques for easing menopause symptoms while creating a safe and supportive space for women to share their menopause experiences.
Menopause Yoga™️ founded by Petra Coveney, is the first teacher training programme that has been created specifically to help women manage their menopause symptoms. It embraces a positive approach that views the menopause as an opportunity for self-insight and personal growth while positively re-framing the menopause as a woman’s ’Second Spring’.
The key elements of Menopause Yoga classes are:
Women’s Circles: creating a safe and supportive space for women to come together to share menopause experiences in a non-judgemental environment
Yoga sequences: Tailor made (incorporating Hatha, Yin and Restorative yoga) to manage menopausal symptoms and adapted with props and modifications for common menopause health issues such as osteopenia, osteoporosis and frozen shoulder. The sequences also help to maintain bone density, muscle mass, balance and flexibility, all important as our hormone levels fluctuate and change.
Meditation, mindfulness and breathing techniques: to help calm the nervous system and develop a greater connection between body and mind while undergoing this huge transformation.
Positive psychology & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: to offer alternative perspectives to menopause and menopause symptoms often drawing on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda.
Journalling techniques: enabling women to gain a deeper understanding of their own unique experiences of the menopause and explore opportunity for self growth.
