5K Foundations - PM Session (5-6pm)

From walk to run — we’ve got you every step of the way.

Have you always wanted to run 5KM but weren’t sure where to start? This is the program for you.

Join our 9 week Learn to Run program — a supportive, progressive journey from walking to running, designed to build your confidence, endurance, and love of movement (yes, running can actually be enjoyable).

Led by a Registered Kinesiologist and experienced running coach, this program takes the guesswork out of getting started. We’ll use evidence-based run/walk intervals to gradually increase your stamina in a way that’s doable, safe, and fun — no burning lungs or endless laps required.

What You Get:

• A progressive 9-week training plan to take you from walking to running 5KM

• Two weekly coached sessions with a knowledgeable, supportive trainer (Mondays and Wednesdays)

• Guidance on running technique, pacing, breathing, and recovery

• Tips for staying consistent, injury-free, and motivated

• A community cheering each other on

• The option to celebrate with our Fernie Fun 5 event at the end!

 

This is for you if:

• You’re brand new to running or haven’t run recently and would like to start again

• You want expert guidance, more knowledge on how to do it right, and a supportive crew

• You’re looking for a safe, non-intimidating place to start

• You want to build endurance and feel stronger this season
