Strangler Fig - Aerial Silks Workshop with Ritti Soncco
After teaching her signature choreographies in Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy, Ritti is back with her newest signature choreographies.
The strangler fig seed dances on the wind, lands on a tree canopy, and shoot its roots down to the earth. The aerial roots grow upwards and downwards at the same time. The small seed take up space. The small seed haunts, curls, dances. Is she a parasite or a symbiosis?
Taking lessons from the strangler fig, this workshop explores how we dance between our roots as they shoot up and down at the same time. How we weave movement in the air. How we take up space. How we linger, how we haunt. Are we taking over or are we trying to become one?
