Web of Connectivity: Non Dual Yoga Philosophy

This day of learning with Elena will be an open and discursive dive into Non Dual Yoga Philosophy, and the historical roots of yoga that underpin our modern practices. You will explore Non Dual teachings from number of beautiful, illuminating texts, learn an overview of yoga history and have the opportunity for discussion/group work practically applying these teachings to enrich your daily life with ritual and meaning.

What's covered?

-Overview of yoga's historical development, it's ancient cultural & geographical roots 
-What yoga is to each of us and how it can enrich our everyday; deepening our collective potential 
-The symbolism & significance of gods & goddesses within yoga
-Shiva & Shakti as energetic principles
-How we can avoid spiritual bypassing!
-The great elements and their weave in our yoga practice (Mahabhutas) 
-A closing embodied movement & yin practice

Day two:

Sunday 28th April 2024, 11-4pm

Luminous Sound: Mantra, Song & Kirtan 

What's covered?

-The playful, joyful potential of your voice! Practical vocal techniques to nurture and develop it
-Learning, and breaking down the Sanskrit translations for x2 mantras
-Different types and styles of singing mantra (bija, saguna, nirguna) 
-The history & context of different sound practices within yoga (bhakti/nada etc)
 -Native medicine songs and traditions
-Discussion//group-work & time to play with a range of instruments including the harmonium
-Uplifting Kirtan style sing & jam session
-A closing sound meditation
