Intro To Aerial Silks (4 Week Course)

Aerial Fitness is a fantastic full-body workout designed to build strength, muscle tone and to increase flexibility. It is a great way to get fit, to work with others and push yourself to new limits! Master the basics with Leeds Aerial Arts within a relaxed and friendly environment.

This four week fundamentals course is for those completely new to the Aerial Silks, the long strips of fabric that hang from the air. Learn to climb, lock and create beautiful shapes in the air on this intro course! Aerial silks are widely regarded as the most beautiful of the aerial arts, but it is a test of physical strength and courage! In this class Lorna will teach you conditioning exercises to train your body for the aerial silks, you will learn to climb, make wraps and sequence moves together in the air. You will build upper body and core strength as well as confidence and learn an awesome new skill. You are welcome to bring a camera to take pictures as you go!

This class is suited to those with no prior experience of aerial silks or those who need to refresh the basics. Be aware, aerial silks requires a reasonable level of strength to get the most out of it, and so if you are new to Leeds Aerial Arts, we would recommend trying Aerial Hoop, Trapeze or Aerial Sling first. This session will run at three aerialists per piece of equipment. You should wear comfortable fitted clothing and bare feet. Jewellery MUST be removed and clothing with zips or studs will not be allowed as they damage our equipment.

This course is £60 per person, and at the end of the four sessions you should feel confident and excited to move into any of the other silks classes offered at our studio
