Do you wish you could decipher all those dots and squiggles? A non-intimidating course suitable for complete beginners or people wanting to improve their sight-reading skills. You will learn how to work out tunes and rhythms, and also some keyboard skills.
PLEASE NOTE that this class is on the first floor up some stairs so we regret that it is not wheelchair accessible.

A session for players relatively new to the guitar, developing skills in strumming patterns, tablature and chord positions in a group setting.
In this five week course, we will build on our knowledge of and gain confidence using the chords C, Dm, F, G, G7 and Am, developing our strumming and learning new songs and new chords along the way. This course is ideal for people who have some experience of the above chords, but may have had some time off playing or would like to continue their learning in a small group setting. The Beginners Plus course is led by Jen - founder of Otley Ukulele Orchestra and Roundhay Ukulele Group. Jen has over 10 years ukulele teaching experience in group and 1-1 settings.
The course will be relaxed, informal and fun - no need to read music - everything will be explained and all resources are included in the course fee.
The course is limited to 15 people in person and unlimited numbers on-line. If you sign up for an in person place, you will also receive access to the Zoom session if you are unable to attend on the day for any reason. All course participants will also receive recordings of each session - so you can catch up in your own time and/or practice along to it as many times as you like in between sessions. Having two weeks in between sessions is perfect to get to grips with your practice and consolidate techniques and skills learned in class.
Playing the ukulele in a group setting is uplifting and joyful! Come and join the fun!

The course will be relaxed, informal and fun. No need to read music - everything will be explained and all resources are included in the course fee. The song booklet is sent you via email so you can download onto a tablet/iPad or print at home. We can send you a paper booklet in the post, but please do email us to request this is good time on ukulelejen@gmail.com. We will ask for a contribution to cover the postage costs.

You will be able to interact with course leader Jen and ask questions using the Zoom chat function while the class is in session. You can have your camera off or on and no one will be able to hear you play while you are online. There is usually time for a quick chat at the beginning and end of the class too!

The course is £50 for five 1 hour sessions (in person at The Woolpack Studios or via Zoom), which includes all song sheets and practice tracks/videos
A relaxed and informal 5 week course to help you develop your confidence and skills on the ukulele, learning new songs, chords and techniques - beamed straight to your home via Zoom!
This course is suitable for players who can play and change between the chords C, C7, F, G, G7, Am, Dm and Em. Together we will practice chord changes, introducing new chords, playing single note melodies and developing your strumming technique.

Informal but creative sessions for song writers combining tutoring with exchanging ideas and working with others on song writing projects.
