THE PROCESS OF CONTINUOUSLY NOTICING - With Tim Orr

THE PROCESS OF CONTINUOUSLY NOTICING (with Tim Orr - Master Improviser)
Price: 175 eu.
Dates: June 20 and 21 (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day)
8-hour intensive workshop.

As we cooperatively navigate scenes and stories, it’s easy to get in our heads.  One might even say that it’s one of the biggest hazards of the trade for improvisers. How can we move toward a more conscious, in-the-moment approach to improvising?  Slowing down (but paradoxically not going “slow”) is key.  So is eye contact, breathing, being comfortable with silence, and something I call “increasing our tolerance for nothing happening”.
Here are some things we’ll work on:
- Listening and Reacting - The  key to connection.
- Slow Down - We notice more when we go slower (just like walking v. driving).
- Where are We? - Create locations/wheres, and do things in them.
- Who are We? - Let’s take the time to create our character, and discover why they’re there in that situation!
- Pauses - We don’t need non-stop talking and activity in improv. Give scenes and moments room to breathe.
- Involve Your Senses - Sight, Smell, Touch, Hearing and Tasting.
- Discovery through Noticing - Find the meaning of characters, scenes and stories through noticing.  It’s right there in front of you!
- Surprise Yourself!  - The process of continuously noticing leads us to seeing each scene/location/situation in a fresh and unique light.  You (and your partners) will be surprised by the results!  It’s a thrilling way to improvise, for both you and the audience!

Come alive in your improv scenes!  Become confident in your ability to portray any kind of person in any kind of situation!
