4-Week Yoga Fundamentals Course with Elevate Yoga Studio
Join Wen for a 4-week Yoga Fundamentals course that offers practical tools to deepen your understanding of yoga and develop them into your own practice. This course is for anyone who is completely new to yoga, or with little experience and for regular practitioners who like a ‘refresher’ to further deepen their practice.
Each session is 75-min long and we will be focusing on different aspects of yoga each week - building up basic knowledge and expanding it into your own self-practice.
Week 1: Ground
Introduction to the root of Yoga and Hatha Yoga, - philosophy, pranayama (breath regulation), breakdown of basic asanas (poses) of Sun Salutation, alignment principles and practising using props.
Week 2: Energise & Flow
Fundamentals of Vinyasa-style yoga, - linking basic asanas together, exploring transitions with the breath, and building up heat in a flow.
Week 3: Unwind & Rest
Embodying slow, gentle movement, with self tapping/massage techniques, to prepare the body for longer-held Yin poses with the use of props, before we soften into deep rest.
Week 4: Elevate
Weaving all the elements that we’ve explored the past weeks into a Yang to Yin class, - elevate the practice on the mat in your own way and integrate them into other areas of your life.
The sessions will be conducted in workshop-style, with time for interaction, questions and discussion among the group. Digital manual will be provided for your reference.
