Rebel Circus (Group name to be decided): Circus For Teens

Have you ever wanted to walk a tight wire, jump through hoops or do a handstand? Then this bespoke mixed circus skills programme is for you.

Rebel Circus offers an opportunity for young people to learn new skills and discover circus as a means of creative expression. The course will focus on collaboration and having the young people grow together as a group, to create projects that are lead by their own interests and creativity.

Over 12 weeks there will be the opportunity to be introduced to lots of different circus skills, from tumbling and acrobatics, to walking globe and poi. The programme will be determined by the young people's interests, however our coaches will also guide and encourage them to try new skills. Our first challenge, finding a name for the group! This class includes the opportunity to learn low tight wire to practice the art of 'funambulist' and some easy low aerial practice to start your journey in the air. We hope through this process to build towards creating a sharing for the 1st April 2023, all to be determined by the group.

This course is suitable for previous students to our youth programme and we also welcome students who are new to circus. The programme will be lead by our Youth Coaches, Haj and Jimmy.

Aerial Activities
- For aerial activities we cannot assign individual equipment to each child due to our youth risk assessment for aerial. Subsequently aerial activities may be offered to each 'pod' with a shared piece of equipment and extra hand washing and hygiene measures in place between each use.
- Any shared activity / equipment will be at the discretion of the parent's choice for the child to take part. If there is any activity that a parent does not want their child to take part in for reasons of shared equipment or breaking physical distancing of 2 metres they can advise the tutors of this, whom can then offer alternative activities that can be practiced safely.

Contactless Paperwork
