Circus Factory is stretching out its circusy arms to bring you 6 weeks of Handstands in collaboration with The Collective Cork at their cosy studio on Tobin Street in Cork City Centre. Students will learn with different coaches including Nat Whittingham, Cormac Mohally and Circus Factory coaches as the weeks progress offering lots of tips and techniques
Hand balancing, or Handstands, is the art and practice of holding an inverted body shape using the hands and arms as the main support. Hand balancing can be practiced at all levels. It is a progressive discipline which requires the student to overcome fear, build strength and explore balance.
Cormac Mohally has been doing circus for over 20 years, from juggling to unicycle, from aerial to partner acrobatics. He enjoys the challenges of slowing down and finding an inner balance that handstands present.
This course is suitable to all levels, no experience necessary.

Arrival
- Please arrive on time and no more than 5 - 10 minutes before class starts
What to bring and wear
We ask all users to limit what personal belongings they bring into the space however there are a few things you might need:
- Your own water bottle / hydration
- Warm layers with close fitting under layers that do not flop over the head when upside down!
- Clean socks - no outdoor trainers allowed on the floors
- Personal Face Mask
Please leave all valuables and jewellery at home. Jewellery can damage equipment and can become damaged or cause injury due to the nature of aerial practice and apparatus.
Unfortunately Circus Factory cannot be responsible for, or hold onto lost property for any duration of time.
Contactless Paperwork
- All first time user forms (Circus Factory Waiver, Medical History, Emergency Contacts) are required to be filled out online through our new booking system (we have integrated with GoTeamUp booking software) before booking a class. You will be led through these forms after selecting to purchase a class.
Covid Symptom Checks
- If you are experiencing Covid symptoms or are isolating from testing positive for Covid-19 please do not attend class.

Cancellation Policy in place from January 2022
All full week courses carry a 5 day cancellation policy upon the first start date of full course or individual session booked (if available).
This is required due to people on waiting lists and to ensure we can meet our financial commitments to our venue, administration and facilitators.
- All cancellations up to 5 days before your course starts will be fully reimbursed either back to your payment source or can be applied as value of the course as account credit on your GoTeamUp Account to use at Circus Factory at a different time. To cancel from a course you must contact contact@circusfactorycork.com and we can cancel from the administration side.
Late Cancellations
A maximum of 1 classes can be reimbursed to the value of 50% of that class over a course of full weeks term. You must email Louisa at contact@circusfactorycork.com to ensure you receive this credit.
- Refunds can only be reimbursed as GoTeamUp account Credit only.
- Should you need to unregister from your entire course less than 5 days before the course starts or individual sessions booked (if available) unfortunately we cannot guarantee a refund for your place. However should there be a waiting list and we are able to fill the place then we can reimburse as GoTeamUp account credit only.

In the event that Circus Factory requires to cancel a class at any time, all registered users will be fully reimbursed.
