Circus Factory And Pitch'd Circus and Street Arts Festival present Creative Aerial Practice with Aisling Ní Cheallaigh and Brenda Long

2.30pm - 5.30pm
Price €20 per day (choose register for a single session) / €30 for both days



This creative lab aims to give aerial students the tools to build an aerial act and create their own original choreography. All levels and aerial apparatus are welcome. Please either bring your own apparatus or inform the circus factory beforehand of which apparatus you will need for the workshop.

Aisling is an Irish Aerialist and circus performer based in Sligo. She delights in flight and movement, specialising in aerial hoop and straps. She is one half of the award winning show 'How to Square A Circle’ and performs regularly with Limerick based Fidget Feet Aerial Dance. Before Covid she performed all over the world at festivals and events such as the Complement Cirque (Montreal), Chinese New Year Night Parade (Hong Kong) Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Festival (Scotland) and The Islamic Solidarity Games (Azerbaijan).

Brenda Long is a Circus Factory Aerial Coach specialising in aerial silks. This 2 day course is presented and subsidised by Brenda Long's receipt of Agility Funding from Arts Council Ireland which supports artists and arts workers to focus on and receive training and mentorship in areas of their practice that they would like to develop.

Information for Attendees to note:
Arrival
- We ask that all students wear Face Masks when arriving into the Studio and only remove Face Masks when you are settled in your assigned training Area.
- Please arrive no more than 5 - 10 minutes before class starts and avoid congregating at the door or baggage storage.
- Non Contact Temperature checks will now take place on arrival by your tutor.

What to bring and wear
We ask all users to limit what personal belongings they bring into the space however there are a few things you might need:
- Your own water bottle / hydration
- A small personal sweat towel if necessary
- Clean socks - no outdoor trainers allowed on the mats.
- Personal Face Mask
Please leave all valuables and jewellery at home. Unfortunately Circus Factory cannot be responsible for, or hold onto lost property for any duration of time.

Covid-19 measures in place for public and staff safety:


Mask Protocols
- Currently Circus Factory's minimum requirement is that the tutor is required to wear a face mask if working with a student in close proximity(less than 2 meters)
- It is at the students discretion if they wish to wear a mask at any time during the class.
- It is at the students discretion if they are comfortable for the tutor to work with them in close proximity. If they do not wish for this, alternative exercises will be offered that can be practiced safely whilst maintaining adequate physical distancing.

Physical Distancing
- Max individual numbers: 6 + 1 Tutor
- All students will be assigned clearly marked individual mat zones of 3m squared with distancing between each zone
- All students will be assigned individual equipment with no sharing of equipment permitted
- Students are only permitted to train in the zone assigned.
- Hand sanitising stations are installed and clearly marked in the building - please use regularly
- All training mats will be fully cleaned and sterilised before and after class.
- Equipment that cannot be effectively sterilised after class due to material type (Aerial Silks, Rope, Trapeze) will be quarantined for 24 hours after class.
- No Drop In places allowed - All bookings MUST be made online

Contactless Paperwork
- All first time user forms (Waiver, Medical History, Emergency Contacts) are required to be filled out online through our new booking system (we have integrated with TeamUp booking software) before booking a class.You will be led through these forms after selecting to purchase a class.

Covid Symptom Checks
- If you, or anyone you have been in close personal contact, have shown any amount of symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 14 days
and / or
- If you, or anyone you are in close personal contact with, are quarantining for the advised 14 days after international travel / arriving into Rep Ireland
You MUST NOT attend a class.
According to the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE), below are symptoms of the novel Coronavirus C19:
> Cough
> Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
> Fever
> Chills
> Repeated shaking with chills
> Muscle pain
> Headache
> Sore throat
> New loss of taste or smell

Cancellation Policy
The 2 day course carries a 5 day cancellation policy upon first start date of full course or individual session booked (if available).
This is required due to people on waiting lists and to ensure we can meet our financial commitments to our venue, administration and facilitators.
- All cancellations up to 5 days before class starts will be fully reimbursed to your GoTeamUp account. To cancel from a course you must contact and we can cancel from the administration side.
Unfortunately Circus Factory cannot offer cash refunds.
Late Cancellations
Should you unregister from your training less than 5 days before the course starts or individual sessions booked (if available) unfortunately we cannot reimburse your account. However in the event that a person on the wait list avails of your cancelled place and registers we can reimburse your GoTeamUp account credit.

>In the event that Circus Factory requires to cancel a class at any time, all registered users will be fully reimbursed.
