MAMM Partner Acrobatics Workshop

This three-day partner acrobatics workshop offers strong foundational training in partnering and insight into MAMM’s repertoire in a playful and supportive environment. Each day begins with a warm-up that focuses on listening, trust and physical readiness. From there, we’ll explore the fundamentals of partnering and weight sharing through progressive lifting structures, moving step by step from simple to more complex lifts, supported by personal guidance and feedback. As the workshop develops, we’ll delve deeper into dynamic skills such as jumping, group work and climbing. These tools are then brought into practice through repertoire and improvisation tasks.

We will learn and embody duet material from MAMM, deepening and sharing the movement language that is developed together throughout the day.

Intermediate / Advanced

Are there any prerequisites to attend?

Previous experience in partnering, acrobatics or Contact Improvisation is recommended

Comfortable clothes.

Circus Factory has a microwave, kettle and small kitchen. The Marina Market Food Hall is also just across the road. The Black market is behind us.

About MAMM

MAMM consists of Maxime Abbenhues and Mees Meeuwsen, based in Amsterdam. They found each other in their love for partnering and risk taking. Their work explores the boundaries of dance and acrobatics. Maxime & Mees focus on partnering that is based on the use of momentum, not on strength, to move another body. They encourage a playful approach and provide a warm and safe environment for exploration. MAMM is currently selected for the Dutch New Makers (FPK) 2024-2026. Their work was praised and seen in multiple festivals and theaters in The Netherlands and internationally in Korea, Italy, France, UK, Finland and Germany. Winners of Mittelfest 2023, YAA Award 2024, and nominated for the Next Step Award.
