Workshop Details

Rope’n’Roll Workshop:

Elevate Your Aerial Skills: "This workshop is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of Vertical Rope and Silks—two aerial apparatuses that are as challenging as they are captivating. Designed for aerialists, especially those with experience in silks and rope, this workshop offers a chance to refine technique, expand movement vocabulary, and explore seamless transitions. Though rope and silks differ in their mechanics, they complement each other beautifully. Studying both in parallel enhances aerial awareness, particularly in dynamic movements and rolls—what I call "air proprioception". Over three days, we will focus on three key themes: aerial dynamics, roll-ups & roll-downs, and various types of drops. Each day builds upon the last, progressing as follows:

Day 1: Foundations of aerial dynamics and drops—exploring fundamental movement principles and spatial orientation through specific sequences.

Day 2: Advanced dynamics and drops—expanding on Day 1 with more complex elements, highlighting the different challenges with rope and silks.

Day 3: Roll-up & roll-down techniques—mastering C-shape, S-wrap, helicopter variations, and physical preparation for both static
and dynamic roll-ups. .

Who is this workshop for?

Intermediates / Advanced

The workshop is primarily designed for aerial silks and rope students, teachers, and artists, but it can also be
valuable and inspiring for dancers and acrobats of all backgrounds!

Are there any prerequisites to attend?

A few years of experience, feel comfortable with inversions, long arms or bent arms in inversions is ok, as long as you can hold the position with control, having a solid meat hook is great, but not essential, same for the hip-key entry from straddle position.
