Note this is an advanced class - beginners should not register.
This is a mixed level class for improvers and intermediate students. For students who have caught the aerial bug and and to develop their skills, strength and artistry in the air.
It aims to continue to develop the students strength and essential key skills for Aerial Silks with fluency and control. Further dynamic transitions plus new movements and techniques will be introduced including choreographic sequences.
There will also be continued focus on strength and conditioning exercises to develop the physical preparation required for this beautiful yet demanding art form.
At the end of the term you will have strengthened your basic skills and technique on aerial silks along with a variety of floor exercises to develop the strength for further progression. We will also demonstrate the importance of safe aerial practice.
What to Expect in your Improver Aerial Class
In every class there will be graded conditioning exercises for both improver and intermediate levels that build up the required strength needed to progress in this discipline. You will learn more complex sequences and dynamic drops. There will be an increased focus on creative exploration.
For Who
Improvers: This level is for students who are confident with the content in the advanced beginners level and are looking for more of a challenge. These students are also comfortable inverting from the ground. Students should be familiar with crochet-crochet and catchers from the ground.
Intermediate: This level is for students with a confident inversion in the air and who have also mastered crochet-crochet and catchers in the air. Students at this level require the ability to invert multiple times in the air. Students in these class groups might have been training for about a year or longer and are comfortable and confident in the air.

Are there any pre-requirements to attend?
Improvers: Students should be comfortable with basic climbs, footlock and hip-key sequences as well as inverting from the ground. Students should also be familiar with crochet-crochet and catchers from the ground.
Intermediates: Students at this level require the ability to invert multiple times from a climb. Students must be able to wrap catchers and S-Wrap in the air and be comfortable and confident moving through more complex sequences.
What Should You Bring?
Long tight fitting clothing is best, e.g. leggings and tight upper layers. Avoid hoodies and loose clothing that might hinder vision when upside-down. No jewellrey or watches. No zips on clothing, including small zips on leggings, as these can snag on the silks and damage the equipment.
