Myofascial Release
Myofascia is the connective tissue that provides internal support and protection to structures in the body. If you can imagine a sinewy 3D spider web traveling throughout the body, acting almost like a safety net, aiding muscles in their movement and cushioning organs. It allows muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints to slide and glide across each other.
Just like muscles, tendons and ligaments, fascia can get tight and restricted. When this happens the facia tightens in a wringing effect pulling on mucles, tissues and structures around it. It can reduce optimal movement within the body and lead to muscle tension increasing the risk of injury and inflammation.
Pilates is a group of movements and stretches which are centred around strengthening our core muscles. During this class you will learn how to activate these correctly and the importance these play with our day today movement of your body to help prevent injury. Pilates is know to improve issues such as back pain, upper / lower, shoulder impingement, imbalances in glutes, hip flexors, and many more injuries.
