Join Jan for a monthly 90 minute yoga and sound relaxation workshop.

The perfect way to unwind and self nurture; 45 minutes of gentle yoga, followed by 45 minutes of sound relaxation. 

What is sound relaxation? 

All you have to do is lie down on your yoga mat, close your eyes, relax and allow the vibrations of sound wash over you. Jan will play Shamanic frame drum, gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, ocean drum, various percussion instruments, and sometimes the voice/ chanting. 

When we engage in sound relaxation, our brainwaves are slowed down, taking us into an altered state, similar to deep meditation. This is deeply relaxing and allows the body to return to homeostasis, where natural healing can take place. The added benefits are often better sleep, and a feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Contraindications

It is not recommended that you attend if any of these apply;

-          If you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy

-          If you have epilepsy, seizures or an ‘unmanaged’ mental health condition (such as bi-polar, schizophrenia, or any form of trauma)

-          Severe heart conditions

You may be more sensitive to Sound Therapy If you have metal plates, have had recent surgery, broken bones or other major physical injuries, have a pacemaker, or if you suffer from tinnitus.
