Sarum Spring Throwdown 2019
Following on from the success of the Sarum Winter Throwdown we are pleased to announce our next competition; the Sarum Spring Throwdown! The Sarum Throwdown will consist of two single day competitions. Saturday will consist of same sex pairs and we are excited to announce that we will be hosting our first ever Intermediate Competition alongside a 40 plus Master competition on the Sunday! Both the Intermediate and Masters competitions will be for mixed sex pairs. Both Saturday and Sunday will consist of four workouts for each team. There will be a live DJ on the day to help you get through the workouts!
Saturday will be a scaled competition aimed at athlete’s new to CrossFit or with little to no competitive experience. You do not have to be a member of an affiliate, or members of the same affiliate, to take part but you must be confident with the basic CrossFit movements. The Scaled competition will not include gymnastics or complex weightlifting movements but you can still expect to be tested to your limits! We do ask that if you have podiumed at our previous scaled competition you don’t enter this time around but instead encourage other athletes from your gym to come along and try out competing!
The Intermediate competition being held on the Sunday is designed to allow athletes who have progressed past the level for a Scaled competition but have not yet mastered all the complex movements involved in CrossFit. This competition may include some gymnastics such as toes to bar and pull ups but you will not see muscle ups, handstand press ups or rope climbs making an appearance! This is a perfect competition for anyone who has podiumed at our previous Scaled competitions to come and progress your competition experience. The Masters competition will be very similar with appropriate scales put into place. A perfect chance to show how awesome the CrossFit, Masters community is!
Workout standards for all the competitions will be released in the near future.
The cost of entry £40 per team. Entries for our Scaled competition sold out within 2 weeks last time so be quick to secure your place!
