Striptease: One-Off Workshop

Irish Pole Dance Academy (DLight Studios, 46 North Great Clarence St., Dublin 1, IE)
(DLight Studios, 46 North Great Clarence St., Dublin 1, IE)
5 out of 10 Attendees
Arlene Caffrey

Valentine's Day is grand and all... Why not learn a new skill that that you can use for your own amusement and for developing your own self-appreciation (or that you can share with a loved one, if you feel like it)!

This is a fun and sexy one-off suitable for all levels. Arlene will teach you basic Striptease skills incorporating floorwork. It is not strictly a Burlesque workshop, however Arlene will draw from her extensive knowledge and experience in the art of Burlesque in regards to building the tease and engaging with your audience, be it your own reflection or a loved one.

We will begin by discussing mindset and what it means to be standing in your power, to help you to become more at home in your own sensuality. Arlene will then teach you basic striptease tricks, as well as a short choreography that you can bring home, which incorporates all of our newly found sultry skills.

This will not exactly be all about dancing in order to please your partner or to fulfil someone else's fantasy. The focus will be on learning to move for your own joy and expressing this. In short, being the queen of your own queendom.

You must bring your own layers. Please also bring an extra layer on top (like a long sleeve top, something not too tight!) And an extra layer on bottom (like shorts on top of your shorts).

Note that this will NOT exactly be a Valentine's Day themed workshop; no cheesy love songs. The focus will be on learning to move for your own joy. Please feel free to dress up in sexy, sparkly attire (but make sure it's comfortable and allows you to move/dance easily).

Prerequisites:

This workshop is suitable for students of all levels. At a minimum, please ensure that you have a mastery of basic floorwork, such as that contained within our 'Introduction to Pole Dance' course and 'Floorwork Fundamentals' series (ie: floor body rolls, basic backwards shoulder roll, swivel-under, hip waves, prance legs, etc.)

Please feel free to dress up in sexy, sparkly attire (but make sure it's comfortable and allows you to move/dance easily). Equally, wearing sweatpants and a hoodie is also fine: anything that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Knee pads are recommended. Pole specific heels (such as Pleasers) are welcome.
