Pilates Circuits - with Reformer & Small Equipment

**Please note - becuase we use Reformers in Circuit classes, you must attend a Introductory workshop for Reformer or a 1:1 before registering.

In a Pilates circuits class, participants move through a circuit of various Pilates exercises designed to target different muscle groups. The class typically involves both mat-based Pilates exercises and the use of specialized Pilates equipment such as reformers, stability balls, resistance bands, and Pilates rings. The circuit may include stations for different exercises, and participants rotate through these stations in a systematic manner.

The goal is to provide a comprehensive full-body workout that improves strength, flexibility, and balance.

Here's a general outline of what you might expect in a Pilates circuits class:

Warm-up: The class begins with a gentle warm-up to prepare the body for the exercises ahead. This may include light stretching, joint mobilization, and focused breathing.

Circuit Stations: Participants move through a series of stations, each with a specific Pilates exercise. Stations may include exercises on the mat, on Pilates equipment, or a combination of both.

Core Focus: Pilates is known for its emphasis on core strength, and many exercises in the circuit will target the abdominal muscles, lower back, and pelvic floor.

Variety of Exercises: The circuit may include a variety of exercises such as leg circles, planks, pelvic tilts, side-lying leg lifts, spine stretches, and more. The use of equipment adds resistance and challenges different muscle groups.

Balance and Flexibility: Pilates circuits often incorporate exercises that enhance balance and flexibility, promoting overall body awareness and control.

Cool Down: The class concludes with a cool-down segment, which typically involves stretching and relaxation exercises to help the body recover and reduce muscle tension.

Pilates circuits classes are suitable for individuals of various fitness levels, and modifications can be made to accommodate different abilities. The combination of Pilates principles with the circuit training format provides a dynamic and engaging workout experience.
