Self-suspension is an art that combines many different disciplines into one physical expression.

Aerial dance, rope bondage, art installation, yoga – all of these for the core, but there is much more that can be included in shibari bondage and self-suspension art. There are as many different forms of bondage, as there are individuals who practice this form of art.

To learn shibari or self-suspension we need to be super-aware of our own body’s capability, our strengths and weaknesses.

During these classes I will try to share as much of my personal experience as possible: from the time when I was a rope-model and about 10 years of my self-suspension journey.

To begin with, we will have an open, but safe, discussion about our bodies. This will include our talking about our experiences (e.g. sport, desk-job, dance, injuries etc.), and an attempt to clarify why you are interested in learning self-suspension. I will try to encourage you to participate in this discussion, as I believe that this will be very important and beneficial for future exploration in this field.

By knowing the reasons for your interest in self-suspension, I will be able to adjust my knowledge to suit the individual needs of each participant.

Be it that you would like to perform on the stage in the future, do this to explore your own strengths or just try something completely different to what you were doing before.
