Introduction to Yoga 

 

This is the perfect course for you if you have never done yoga before, tried yoga before but were not sure if you were doing it correctly and the words were confusing you, or you tried some online classes and want to build on your practice.  

 

My introduction to yoga classes is suitable for all levels. The space will support all abilities, a safe space to ask questions, stop when you need to and is non-judgmental. This practice will be multi-level ensuring you can benefit from the modifications and progressions throughout the course.  

 

Location: Metropolitan House 4th Floor, Station Road, Cheadle Hulme, SK8 7AZ.

Wk1:  

Welcome circle.  

What is Yoga? 

What equipment we use?  

Learn how to practice meditation and breathing exercises. 

Q&A / Feedback loop. 

 

Wk2 

Welcome circle.  

Learn about the some of different styles of Yoga and their benefits. 

How to use props during your practice. 

Learn how to practice breathing exercises (pranayama) and some mindful foundation poses (asana). 

Q&A / Feedback loop. 

 

Wk3 

Welcome circle.  

What is a Sun Salutation and the benefits of this practice?  

Learning variations of standing, seated, prone (front laying) and supine (laying on your back) poses (asana). 

Q&A / Feedback loop. 

 

Wk4 

Welcome circle.  

Practice Sun Salutation and move into flow state through a small sequence suitable for all levels. 

Yoga Nidra Relaxation – A guided relaxation and the benefits on this practice.  

Q&A / Feedback loop. 

 

Provided: Mats, blocks, brick, blankets & bolster 
No experience necessary and all levels and abilities welcome.  
Car Park | Street parking | Paid car parking nearby.
