Lifted: A Women’s Strength Study (45+)
Are you a woman 45+ who’s ready to see what your body is capable of?
Lifted: A Women’s Strength Study is a 8-week strength training trial designed to explore how structured resistance training impacts muscle mass, bone density, and overall health for women in midlife and beyond.
This is a first-of-its-kind opportunity to be part of a small group pioneering research-backed training for women over 45 in Vancouver.
Who this is for:
Women 45+ with prior exercise experience
Comfortable performing squat, bench press, and deadlift
Willing to train 3x per week (2 in-studio + 1 independent workout)
Motivated to follow a protein goal and provide program feedback
Excited to be part of a supportive community of like-minded women
What’s included:
2x/week small group training sessions at Sweatworking Co (Mondays & Wednesdays at 10:30 AM)
1x/week home or gym workout delivered via Everfit
2 DEXA scans (pre & post) to track changes in muscle mass and bone density
Private online community group for accountability, questions, and sharing experiences
Commitments required from participants:
Complete the 8-week training program and all workouts
Track and meet the protein target (1.6–2g/kg bodyweight)
Participate in baseline and post-program strength assessments
Complete weekly feedback surveys
Be comfortable with occasional filming or photography for program documentation
